Do you think hair looks better highlighted or without highlights?

I'm trying to decide if I want highlights or not. What do you think usually looks better? I have light golden brown hair, if color is a factor for you. :)Do you think hair looks better highlighted or without highlights?
depends on what you like. h/l's can look really natural or really unnatural. All one color looks more unnatural, because hair naturally has h/l's in it, even if it is very slight. Each strand or lock of hair have different amounts of pigment.

If you want more natural contrast in your hair that would be nice, like a med golden blond and caramel h/l's would be great for a natural med golden brown. techinque is important too, make sure they know what they're doing.Do you think hair looks better highlighted or without highlights?
i have my hair highlighted and find it a pain to keep up with. i wish i never highlighted mine because it looks bad when it has roots.
I perfer lowlights actually.
yeah it would look good on you(based on your pic). really. :-)
Highlights are old school. Your hair is more beautiful as is.
well i think hair looks better with highlights cuz i have them and i love them!:) =)but my highlights r natchrul.
Highlights look streaky and fake and nasty 99 percent of the time. Just my opinion.
i like highlights in a girls hair...it kinda stands out
Without. Most highlights look like stripes and unnatural.
I love the natural hair color on a person. I like hair w/o highlights better, but that's just my opinion. =]
I think it depends on the person.

IF its done by a professinal, and you choose the right colors then it should look good on you.

Btw, try blonde highlights.
just depends on how you look overall...some people look good some do with highlights
I don't think you need highlights. Chances are you already have subtle highlights. For instance my sister has never dyed her hair or had it highlighted and she has many highlights. And actually its about the same color as yours. Once you highlight it too much you never see it's natural color, which is what I am experiencing. I think highlighting is over-rated. Almost everyone gets it done, I think it looks fine on some people but those with dark hair that get it done with blonde highlights just look tacky and like they are trying too hard. You already have a lighter toned hair and wouldn't look so dramatic but still you will stick out more if you don't get them or get them and make them more subtle.
I have to admit, for the most part I'm not into highlights because they look too ';done.'; The exception, for me, is when it's a very dark base color with blonde, red or some funky colored highlights, but that's because I like the contrast. Or if it's streaks of color instead of that ';highlighter cap'; look. I remember in college I would sit back and stare at all the girls with the cookie cutter highlights.
i think blondes look better with high and low lights and darker hair colors look better solid...unless its black hair than i think that highlights with funky colors look good (= good luck!
I think highlights look good.
Highlighs will make you look great. Radiant and beautiful. Yes, to me color in the hair of woman shows that they DO care for their body.
i love natural looking highlights, but i wouldnt suggest them, unless ur ready for the upkeep- it sucks! just keep it natural- it looks good on anyone!!

Is putting highlights color to my hair can affect to my baby when i breastfeed her?

im breastfeeding my 4 months baby girl, and wondering if i put highlights to my hair will affect her? anybody can give me answer? thank you in advance, have a great day.Is putting highlights color to my hair can affect to my baby when i breastfeed her?
Nope. Your fine! Good luck %26amp; Congrats. Is putting highlights color to my hair can affect to my baby when i breastfeed her?
My mom is a cosmetologist and she told me no it could not affect your baby. She wouldnt suggest bleaching because it is harsher and somtimes the sensitivity of your skin can change once you have had a child. If your really worried, ask your hairstylist a bit in advanced if she can order you some organic hair dye in the shade you want. You can also ask her on your under layers to not put it so close to the scalp.
depends on who you ask. some will say yes, since everything that enters the bloodstream will land in babies milk. i say no. if you're concerned, though, see if your heair stylist will only put the highlights on up to about a centimeter of your scalp. most won't touch the scalp anyhow; something about the roots or something. anyhow, don't get too stressed about it. i've died my hair several times while i was pregnant, and i'm still breastfeeding. i'd be more worried about eating chocolate and broccoli; both are known to give babies horrible gas and upset tummies.

What are some tips on adding -very subtle- blonde highlights to dark auburn hair?

All I've got at home currently is a box of regular blonde hair-dye (not specifically for highlights).. would this be suitable for adding very light, subtle blonde highlights to my hair? It's curly and very similar to my avatar. I want the highlights to just add some variety in tone to my hair without looking like stripes or blocks of color. What are some tips on adding -very subtle- blonde highlights to dark auburn hair?
To get blonde I would use bleach and 10 volume developer. Im not sure how you plan to isolate the highlighted strands but be sure not to get bleach on your scalp. It will make ugly splotches. Good luck! What are some tips on adding -very subtle- blonde highlights to dark auburn hair?
the best thing to do is go to the hairdressers, thats what i did and it turned out perfectly :)

  • Is there a way to make blonde hair lighter without dying or highlighting it?

I've got blonde hair and I don't want it to continue getting darker but I also don't want to dye it.

Help?Is there a way to make blonde hair lighter without dying or highlighting it?
yes in a matter of fact their is and i as a blonde use it once a week ka so you have to buy it a roots natural store its in the hair dye section at the very back corner its called henna its a kind of plant used to lighten hair its in a white bottle with darkish green flowers all over it.

hope i helpedIs there a way to make blonde hair lighter without dying or highlighting it?
There are many shampoos you can use. Most of them are purple. Go to Sally's Beauty Supply or a salon and ask them. I use Shimmer Lights. Its just a shampoo that is only $8 a bottle and you use it once every few days. For a while a was using a shampoo and conditioner from the salon called Platinum. It was also purple. I forget who makes it, maybe Kenra.

Should I let my daughter get highlights in her hair ?

She's 12, turning 13. I don't really have a problem with it, seeing as she's 12, but i'm just wondering what your opinions are.

She wants to get dark blonde highlights in her light brown hair, by the way.Should I let my daughter get highlights in her hair ?
I think she should, however I always somewhat believed that certain things should be earned. After all it does cost money to have those highlights done and I am sure you as the parent is the one who will be paying. Now I don't know if your child is good with money in general and understand the value of it, but I always told my boy (who is now 14): Good Boy Gets Good Things. So if he truly wants something that is more than $20 (it was less when he was younger, but older kids cost more as we know) he has to earn it in different ways. We both talk about what is reasonable for him to do, to get what he wants. I want him to be part of the decision process and he has been since he was about 7-8 years old. He of course never wants to do anything (like most kids...lol) but he agrees to most things we discuss. Now he happens to be a pretty good kid anyway, who has since he was 7 years old had certain weekly chores, like emptying garbage cans all over the house, clean the dinner table every night dinner etc etc. But when he wants something special, he gets to help me in the yard for a couple of hours or clean one of our cars on the inside including vacuuming etc. Small things that will not take too much time, and usually he does this on the weekends when he has more time.

I believe in by doing this, he will also understand that nothing is for free in life and even though I do spoil him occasionally of course, this is the routine most of the time. So with this I get some help at home (I have a full time job, a 7000 sqf home that I clean myself and a 3 acre lawn that I cut every week), gets him to understand that most of the time we have to work for the things we want and there is no such thing as a free lunch...lol. Also, some parents might think this is tough but his dad is a multi millionaire and I don't want him to think that money grows on trees and that we all have to work hard for the things we truly want.

So yes, I think your daughter should get the highlights if she really wants them, but it never hurts to teach them things that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Also, if you are going to do them, do take her to a trusted salon and they will tell you exactly if it can be done and what the result will be. If they are good, then most things can be done and it will look great.

Good luck :)Should I let my daughter get highlights in her hair ?
yeah i got them when iwas 9
ya! u shouldn't be worrying over this kinda stuff!... well, sometimes but not in these cases... a good parent lets their child be creative and curious and enjoy their youth... I'm 13... I can't even get the haircut I want... but soon as I graduate from school, I'm dying the tips of my hair white and gettin' red streaks with piercings up and down my ears, LAWL...

    ... can't wait...

    ...
It will probably damage her a hair a little.. but if she straightens it then it is already damaged so why not just let her then buy her the repairing shampoo..
i certainly would, the more u try and hold them close and stop them the more they will pull away, let her experiment but make sure she still knows ur the boss!
    Of course, let her experiment.
i dont see a problem with it
    Yup. That's fine.
let her,im 11 and i already have blone highlights(i have brown hair) so yea let im 11 and i already have em!
    Highlights are good.

Just don't let her do an all over color, not because age but a year ago I tried to go dark blonde from dark brown and the lady turned my hair orange and I had to go back a week later and get it fixed and my hair is trashed. I now only have 2 inches of the color left, i just got a hair cut but my ends are DRY.
you should let her i got highlights when i was 12
I started dying my hair at 11 almost 12. Highlights look great on just about anyone if they are done right! I have brown hair, and I've always since then had some kind of highlights in it. I think as long as you guys have the money to keep it up, go for it!
the only thing that would bother me about that is it would damage her hair, and who wants to ruin their hair at 12? thats why i will never get high lights or dye my hair.

BUT i do think that would look good.
My 11 year old has blonde streaks in her dark brown hair and they look really good. I actually did them myself and I haven't had any expirience as a hair dresser and they turned out fine. I wouldn't have let her do them any younger than 10 though, because even though they can look good on anyone, they look a little odd on younger kids.

My 9 year old wants streaks too, and I have told her she can use fake estentions which do look real. When she turns 10 in a month I'll let her get them as a birthday present, its something she can look foward too.

So I would say go for it, and if you can't afford it do it yourself as its really not that hard. If its something your daughter truly wants, I don't see a problem with it as long as its not something she wants one day and doesn't want to next!
if u dont have any problems with it then let her get them done

but my friend is strawberry blonde and she got blonde highlights but you couldnt tell the difference so make sure u get the ones she wants which will show up so u dont waste your money!
theres no probel with highlights they're nice and all

    BUT~

the color won't stay until she hits puberty

it'll fade really quick and not hold

plus it's mess up her hair growing by the chemicals in it

shes not fully developed and hair is part of the deal

    I say wait a while
i got mine when i was like 10. Go for it , she is almost a teenager .
I got highlights when i was 13....let her expierment with it
Well, I think you should really think about it.

I dyed my hair a dark brown when I was 13, and I loved it.

However my best friend did the same thing and it came out horrible. She didn't go to school for weeks.

Nowadays, kids are rough, just make sure she REALLY wants to do it!

    Good luck.
You should compromise with her. Tell her that she can have some highlights just a few at first and if she likes it then the next time she can have more.
Why not? I got them when I was 11.

I have very pale skin and brown hair with blonde highlights and blue eyes, need advice?

    Skin- pale skin

Eyes- Blue. My bottom eyelashes are blonde (that's the major problem there) I would love to bring out my bottom eyelashes. My top eyelashes are brown and long. I also just want my blue eyes to pop out.

    Lips- Thin

Hair- Short Brown hair, with blonde highlights

    Another question:

My top right eyelid keeps itching and I have no idea why. It itches and then it will burn. I wear covergirl makeup, I'm beginning to wonder if it's that the source. If it is, what is the best make up?I have very pale skin and brown hair with blonde highlights and blue eyes, need advice?
You can apply black mascara to the top and the bottom lashes to bring out your eyes. It would work in an instant just with mascara. If you want to bring them out more, you can apply a dark brown eyeliner on the top of your lashline. If you want a more intense look, you can use black eyeliner. Your eyelid might be itching if you're allergic to the makeup. I use MAC and I think it has one of the best cosmetics out there. I also like Bare Escentuals for foundation, concealer, etc. because they do not make me break out and instead, improve my skin.I have very pale skin and brown hair with blonde highlights and blue eyes, need advice?
you sound cute. if over 18 call me
Blue eyes always look really pretty with green, purple, and brown eyeshadow. :D For the bottom eyelashes, maybe just mascara? That's all I can think of.

It sounds like the covergirl makeup is the source of your eyelid itching. Just try switching to a different brand and see if it continues. I use Rimmel a lot, it's cheap and it works alright for me. One of my favorite things for lips by rimmel would be either the pink twist %26amp; shine lip gloss, or the vinyl jelly kind. These are just my recommendations haha, good luck.
