How can i avoid hair damage when I get highlights?

my mothers only concern is that it'll destroy my hair. How can i avoid this?

*Yes i already posted this ? but i need as many answers as possible to convince my motherHow can i avoid hair damage when I get highlights?
Colouring hair is usually only recommended after 16 because your hair and follicles are still developing.

Ask the hairdresser to use vegetable colours rather than stronger chemical ones and this will lessen the damage, but contrary to popular belief, colour can actually make hair feel more soft and although not technically improve the condition of it, it won't necessarily make it worse if your hair is good condition anyway.

As it's highlights, it should be ok on your hair, just make sure you use a shampoo and conditioner that will protect the colour of your hair and also invest in an intensive conditioner - use this 1-2 times a week.

Olive oil is a great treatment for hair too! Use it on DRY hair (it cannot be wet at all) and cover your hair in it completely, wrap your hair in an old towel and leave it overnight if possible. The next morning, use shampoo on your hair directly (do not wet your hair) and cover all the strands with the suds (you may need to use more than usual). Then wash out the shampoo and olive oil. Your hair should feel delicious! This is a very cheap an easy way of looking after your hair. Another way is to use egg yolks like conditioner. Your Mum can always make meringues with the egg whites!!!

Good luck and happy experimenting! ;-)How can i avoid hair damage when I get highlights?
omg my mom doesnt want me to get my hair bleached (i want to bleach it %26amp; then dye it blue :P) but i've done research and you can get special shampoos and conditioners that will help your hair A TON

otherwise it will get realy gross and dry

but it's hair and it will grow out eventually :)

also, you should try highlighting a TINY bit at the bottom of your hair and wait a week and see how it goes and then if it doesnt damage your hair go back and get that bit cut off (if you want) and then get the highlights

that way you can be sure of the effects befre your whole head has to experience it

hope you can get your highlights :)
Don't have the highlights stay in too long. The longer it does, the more damage. Have your hiardresser check it every so often and tell him/her that you don't want full strength or full color.
it will damage your hair just deep condition it every week and it should be ok i would avoid curling and straightening it for a while tho thats what i did when i got it highlighted
Dying your hair alot WILL destroy it. There is nothing you can do to prevent that. Except not dying your hair.
make sure your hair is extremely dirty before u highlight it.

the cleaner your hair is the more damage it will do.

Maybe try not washing it 3 -4 days?
It's still going to damage your hair at least somewhat, regardless of what you put on it.
it doesnt hurt your hair at all trust me i got highlights in like 4th grade
