most hi lights are done on dry hair. however damp hair is ok to hi light too. Not wet, but slightly damp. This usually is used when using foils. NEVER use a cap on damp hair . If the hair is damp and you attempt to pull hair through those tiny holes on the cap... it will become a knotted mess. Damp It helps control the other hairs to stay in place while placing foils in the hair. Dry hair accepts color faster than damp hair, so some kits may suggest damp hair if it's a 'mild' lightner, resulting in sublte hi lights. What is the difference between highlighting on wet or dry hair?
some dyes are activated with a bit of moisture. it doesn't really have much to do with good or bad, its just the difference in the type of developer
hair should always be highlighted dry. the water molecules can get in the way of the chemicals getting into your hair shaft in some areas, causing ';spotty'; color.
I have never used dye at home, but my hair stylist always does it dry..so I think that might be better for your hair.
