Would putting lemon juice on medium brown hair work to create golden highlights?

or would it just turn my hair into a weird orange color?

Any personal experiences (meaning that you have done this before) would be great!

Thanks! I always give 10 points to best answer!Would putting lemon juice on medium brown hair work to create golden highlights?
HOME-MADE HIGHLIGHTS - LIGHTEN YOUR HAIR AT HOME

Lighten your hair with lemon juice.

Sun exposure will lighten your hair, although very slowly. The acid in lemon juice can help it happen faster. It won't turn dark hair blonde, but it will lighten your hair slightly.

Put some lemon juice on your hair where you want it lighter and go out in the sun. If you have dark brown hair, it probably won't turn blonde but will give you red/auburn highlights. It seems to work best on people who have dirty blonde or light brown hair.

Use it on dirty hair, rather than freshly washed hair. That way the oils in your hair will protect it from the drying effects of lemon juice.

Squeeze the juice out of a few lemons, mix it with a third amount of water and put it in one of those cheap plastic spray bottles. Spray it all over your hair before going outside for all over lightening.Would putting lemon juice on medium brown hair work to create golden highlights?
It wont work very well... It WILL dry out your hair, people with oily hair use lemon juice so they dont look greasey

and It works okay SOMETIMES

other times it will turn out splotchy and will look very unhealthy.

If you want highlights go to a hair salon and have them do it. and dont go for a very blonde, go for golden brown highlights

=)

Have fun !
i do this all the time

last year i did it when i was at soccer camp which was outside all day %26amp; i just got a spray bottle with lemon juice %26amp; water %26amp; kept spraying it in %26amp; by the end of the day my hair had mega blonde highlights like it tints your hair

but i was out in the sun for more than 7 hours for doubles %26amp; camp
omg no i did it a couple years ago and it didnt do anything after about 2 and a half hours in the sun and i got stung by like 30 bees

theres a product called sun-in made for that and it works without the bugs but dont put too much in or it will turn your hair orangy

you can get it at drugstores
If you sit out in the sun with the lemon juice, yes.

Use sparingly on just a few strands

Sun-in is like putting pure peroxide on tour hair and on anything but blonde hair, will turn orange. For perfect highlights see a professional
It does work... not drastically, but it's noticeable. I've done it to my medium brown hair :) It's got to be REALLY sunny/nice out... and you've got to put quite a bit of lemon juice in there... then be prepared to spend a couple hours in the sun.... but it does work. Mine didn't turn orange... just lightened up nicely.
It will work as long as your hair is naturally medium brown, but if it is dyed, then that weird orange color would probably show up. I would suggest trying it on a small area first, to see how it looks, before doing it all.

.
It works but it takes a few weeks on consistently applying the lemon juice.
