What color highlights are pretty with black hair?

I've never had highlights before. I have black hair and i want to know what colors look good with black hair. And if you know the cost,please tell me :). Thanks.What color highlights are pretty with black hair?
well first you'd have to bleach the pieces of hair you want highlighted and then dye it what ever color you want.. i would suggest either red highlights..

You probably won't sway this way, but Highlights are called ';highlights'; for a reason. To lighten the color. Black is just that. Blac. Dark, rich, color. Black. The best thing to do with black is actual COLOR. Like pink, blue ... Blonde, red, and all of that will look horrid with a black background. You would do best with some colored streaks. If you HAVE to go with a highlight in your hair, I suppose a dark caramel color would look decent. But very light on it.
I don't know if you are into rock music or if you just have black hair. If you are into rock music then you would probably want to get either purple or red. If you are doing it just to do it then I think a darker brown would look good.
I saw a girl with black hair and she had a blue-ish, green-ish color in her hair, almost torquoise. I thought it looked awesome! It wasn't anything drastic, it was very subtle. I liked it.

i got auburn reddish and everyone loved it. Also i got this thing called a glase(thats probably spelled wrong) which doesn't dye the whole thing it gut makes it shiny and gives a a redish tint. :)
i dunno the cost but yellowish orange highlights look nice....actually anything as long as its noticeable...no dark colors...and remember stay original
caramel/auburn maybe? I have black hair too and it's the only color I would even consider highlighting with.
depends, if you wanna be crazy- a royal purple color- regular dark brown
Dark red, or dark purple highlights they are really pretty I got them ages ago!
Blonde looks nice.
