How can I put highlights in my own hair?

I have the cap and hook. Can I buy regular hair color and do it that way?How can I put highlights in my own hair?
well, i put blond high lights in my hair, u can go to ur local drugstore, i used revlon, and its for highlights, light dark, ect, and u just follow the directions, and u it gave u everything u need inside the small kit, it was a small comb, gloves, and the creamHow can I put highlights in my own hair?
regular haircolor wouldn't come out right, it doesn't have bleach in it. You'd be better off using the real highlights. The cap and hook is a pain in the ***, but i used it on my hair...took a long time, but it came out gorgeous. Good luck.
Yepp.. go with the highlighting cap! It works wonders-- but I agree, it is very time consuming. You can get them at Wal Mart. %26amp; it comes with everything you need. Just keep in mind, you can only do highlights on the head all the way around, the cap does no allow you to do underneath.
