How old were you when you were allowed to dye/highlight your hair?

Hey everybody~ I'm a 12 year old girl and my dad said if I get straight A's (I just have one B+) I will be allowed to get highlights. The weird thing is, a good portion of my friends already have highlights, have dyed their hair (my friend did this when she was 7), and have either permed or relaxed their hair. (Also the same age as me) I was wondering what age you have had your hair highlighted/dyed or if you had kids or whatnot, the age you would allow it for them. And I'm not asking for anything crazy highlights :] My hair is darkish brown with some light spots from sun exposure and I want a meduim golden brown color (I have a picture in another question) Thanks so much~~How old were you when you were allowed to dye/highlight your hair?
Well, i'm 12 also. I've been dyeing my hair since i was about.. I don't know.. 5-6.. that might be because my mom's a hairdresser though so it's different for me. highlights don't ruin your hair evan though some people think it does.. i have like 20 differenet colours in my hair %26gt;.%26lt; in the past i've also had pink and purple. So I would say work hard and go for it :]How old were you when you were allowed to dye/highlight your hair?
hi !! i understand what your asking because I've been in the same situation. I've always wanted do get my hair dyed but if you get it dyed at an early age, perming and whatnot, it damages your hair. I still haven't had and highlights yet but if I had a kid, i would set the age to thirteen because you're old enough to be responsible and start making choices for yourself.
hey im thirteen and my mom wont let me.. but i do have friends that have been hghlighting/dying their hair for a while. my friend started when she was 8. i am getting a perm soon though but thats different then dying.
I was about your age when I first highlighted my hair. I got red and blonde streaks.

my sister got blond highlights for her 11th birthday. but hasnet highlighted it since. shes 13 now.

i got blonde highlights when i was 13 then redone now





but my sister got blonde when she was 12
I got highlights when I was in 7th grade...I dont remember how old I was then though...haha
