I asked a question similar to this one a few months ago. My hair is so dark naturally that is is almost black, and I've recently learned to appreciate it.. but anyway..
I would definately suggest getting it done professionally. The color will last longer, look better, AND you can get it matched up perfectly with your natural hair color [I did that so I could grow mine out without it looking like a mess!]
Sure, getting it done a a salon may cost a little bit more, but it's a lot better than ruining your hair, isn't it?
As for ALL of it coming out dark.. Once you wash your hair a few times [perhaps 3 or 4 times] you will notice that it has lightened and is the color you have chosen. Sometimes a little blonde or light brown will be in your hair, but it usually looks pretty natural. I love mine. %26lt;3

For the best results you should do it professionally, if you do it at home, your highlights may come through. If i were you i would try doing it at home first, and seeing if it's tollerable, and if it's not then going and getting it done. It should be fine to do it at home tho, and it would save you money. If you do decide to do it yourself, then make sure you wash all the die out, cuz it could change ur hair a weird color!!
well you will have to color it like every month till your highlights grow out. dark color dosent stay no matter how great of product you have
