After highlighting my hair can i color it a nice blonde to take away the orange-yellow tint?

i recently highlighted my hair from a dark brown and it turned out orange-yellow in most places and others is a white blonde and i was wondering if i can color my entire head a nice shade of blonde to counter react the orange-yellow without coloring the rest of my nice brown color? After highlighting my hair can i color it a nice blonde to take away the orange-yellow tint?
no, if you color blonde over it it's just going to lighten the blonde highlights and then make your nice brown color an orangish shade.

don't worry about the highlights. it always takes me like 3-4 washes and some time in the sun before it blends in and also fades to the right shade of blonde. it just takes awhile, but it will get there. so don't try to fix it...you'll just risk ending up worse off.

if it's been over a week and it's still looking bad, go to a salon. the first time i ever tried to give myself highlights at home, i didn't like the shade. it was orangey and also not even. like i didn't get it on evenly. so i went to the salon, and they highlighted my hair...kind of frosted it. i still had my natural brown color, just with white blonde highlights. it looked great! i loved it. it was definitely worth the money. i can't remember how much i paid, but it wasn't too bad...
