I highlighted my hair through a cap and it came out awfully checkered/spotted. How do I fix it?!?

I leave for vacation Tuesday and do not have any time to go to a salon. How do I fix this?

Thanks for your help!I highlighted my hair through a cap and it came out awfully checkered/spotted. How do I fix it?!?
go to the beauty supply and buy a color that matches your natural color or one shade lighter. Make sure it is a color all by itself, like make sure it doesn't come with its own developer. Buy a separate developer. Make sure the developer is 10 volume.

Mix the two equal parts in a color bottle (you'll need this if you're doing it by yourself). Apply to scalp only. I'm assuming the screw up is by the scalp and not the mid-length or ends? If this is the case, apply only to scalp, DO NOT let it get anywhere else on your hair. just your scalp.

First apply it to each of the mess-up area and then work outwards from there. You must work fast to get it all over your head from that point without the color touching any other part of the hair. If you are slow at it, it's okay. Just make sure you get the color on the parts that are messed up FIRST. Do each one separately and then work out from each mess up area, *keep an eye on the time*...if you take more than 15 minutes to apply it, wash the whole thing out after 30 minutes from when you started.

If you are more than 30 percent gray, and your natural base color is copper or auburn, you'll have to mix with a neutral of the same shade level. This is where it gets trickier, so hopefully you are not that gray.I highlighted my hair through a cap and it came out awfully checkered/spotted. How do I fix it?!?
If you highlighted your hair with bleach just use a semi-permanent color to ';glaze'; or ';tone'; the color to match the rest of your hair.

Do you have long hair? Because if you do the cap technique is NOT for you. Its more for people who have very short hair for that reason. Also if your cap is reuseable you have to make sure you have a plastic shower cap underneath to prevent ';bleeding'; which is probably how you got the spots. Or you were very careless in pulling hair through the holes.
There is no way to fix it unless you go to a salon. You don't have a choice.
Just re-dye your hair and I wouldn't highlight my hair myself, that is risky girl. So yeah... if you don't have time to go to a salon, then just re-dye it.
Go to a really good salon with alot of $$$
Dye your hair a light color. This will cover any spotches or checkers.

Try to highlight again later.
Just dye your hair your natural color (or the color that you had before you highlighted it). If you must highlight it again, make sure that it is mixed thoroughly. When you apply it to your hair, try to do it in a systematic way to avoid missing spots. Use two mirrors so that you can see the back, sides and front.

Good luck with this.
