If you colored up your blonde hilites up with brown, that brown is going to keep getting lighter and lighter because you used a demi-permanent hair color, which fades over time. All you can do, is go back and get it done again.Blonde highlights to all brown hair? how to keep it from getting lighter?
I used to be blonde about 5 years ago and ended up dying my hair a very dark brown. After about a month or two, the dark dye completed washed out (even though it was permanent) and I was blonde again. Since that it not what I wanted at the time, I just kept dying my hair darker and darker every few months and eventually the dark dye never washed out again. You could also get a filler done at the hair salon. What they do is, they apply the filler to your hair and this basically acts as a primer when you paint your walls. It gives the stylist a ';new canvas'; to apply colour on so that the previous colour you had does not interfere with the new one.
Do you use a spray with sunscreen when you go out in the sun? A different brand of shampoo might help, too. Aveda has a clove shampoo that helps bring out the brown highlights.
