Can someone give me some good reasons why my mom should let me highlight my hair.?

Im 14 and i have dirty blond hair but my tips are really blonde. I want to get some blonde highlights but i dont want them blonde. I want them to look natural but make it look like my hair is a little blonder. I dont want anything drastic that u can tell i got highlights but my mom still wont let me get them. She says once you start you have to keep on highlighting it. Is that true? Also I need good reasons why my mom should let me. Any answers would help. Once you start you do have to continue them, but you are not wanting them drastic enough to make a difference. Sounds like she doesn't want you to grow up.
Tell her that it is just hair and can easily be fixed. And you do have to keep highlighting it whenever the roots grow in, which will be like every 4-6 weeks. Just make sure you're ready for the responsibility, it can be annoying to deal with.
once you highlight your hair, you have to retouch it constantly because when your hair grows out, the roots begin to show, that is what she means. explain to her that it will look natural and you just want hair that is a little more blonde.
