How can i get blonde highlights in my hair?

For free with house hold items? Someone told me lemon juice, but I'm not sure.. my mom said its ok as long as we dont have to pay for it. ThanksHow can i get blonde highlights in my hair?
Lemon juice works, but not all that well.

If your mom doesn't mind spending like 5 dollars, buy Sun-In. It really makes a difference.

Plus, Sun-In is a no-brainer application...you just spray it, and then sit in the sun (or blowdry it). But one thing, be sure to use it in moderation. It could dry your hair out, seeing it's not all natural ingredients.

Here are a few links to sites showing how to lighten your hair with only household ingredients (like lemons and chamomile tea):

Lemon juice works as long as you are in the sun. I have used H2O2 in my hair it takes awhile, but I think it brings out the best highlights.
yes Lemon juice works with sun light %26amp; it won't hurt your hair. but I wouldn't recomend using any chemicals though.
Just so you know there is a highlighting kit that you can get at any store...it cost $10. Some examples are Frost and Glow. It is better than paying $75 to $100 at a salon, and definitely better than guessing at some household products that you aren't totally sure about.
i know ur mum says it okay if u dont have 2 pay, but to be on the safe side i really would go to a hairdressers.

if something goes wrong u cant do anything about it, where as if u go to a hairdressers u are 99% safe.
bleach? sorry but iv never really done that.
There is Renaissance painting that shows a girl sitting in a sunny garden with what looks like a cap on her head. There are strands of hair pulled out through the cap and I will bet you that she is bleaching or putting highlights in her hair. Lemon juice works, especially if you were a blondie as a young child!! You can use freshly squeezed lemon juice as your final rinse, then sit out in the sun. Be sure to use a good conditioner as the juice is very astringent. If you only want chunks or strands highlighted, section those out and brush lemon juice onto those sections of hair before going out in the sun. Hope you've got friends with lemon trees they will let you pick from! You are going to look fabulous!! Be sure to put on sun screen. ;- )
